Going casual

As you all know, I was in Luxembourg last week and attended the blogger class as well as the Courrèges event. Well guess what... I also got the chance to shoot a couple of outfits and here is one of them. A real city outfit I'd say : comfy sweater, jeans, spacious handbag and, of course a pair of sneakers. I shot this casual outfit with Annouk from Luxessed. I must say her pictures are amazing and she definitely knows how to use her camera! I know what I'll be adding to my Christmas list this year : a new camera lens just like Annouk's.
In my opinion, this is a simple and comfortable city outfit when going on a Saturday afternoon shopping spree. I just love cardigans… on sunny, rainy, cold and warm days. You can just carry them anywhere, keep them in your handbag (or wear them around your waist) and take them out as soon as it gets a little windy. Right now, this black and white stars cardigan is my favourite, what colour is yours ?

By the way, Halloween is coming up and I still haven't found a costume. Any ideas, suggestions ? And let me know what you are going to dress up as for Halloween!

Chanel Boy Mini "What's in my bag?" Edition

I recently got this mini-sized Chanel Boy in velvet; I am extremely satisfied and happy with it. I've been using it on various occasions and even though it has a small size, I'm still able to fit my "essentials".
To give you an idea of how much fits inside, I thought I should do a blog post about this just in case some of you were thinking about getting a small sized bag!
So as you can see on all the photographs it's the perfect evening bag, my iPhone is the exact size of the bag. I can also fit a lipstick, some money, and of course my keys or some perfume. That's all you need for a night out!
I am still amazed by the velvet softness, by the bag's gorgeous/cute size… I guess that's because it's my first Chanel…

What kind of Chanel bag do you have, or which one is on your wish list ? I'll start : next on my wish list is the Chanel Shopper in black.

The little beige dress

We all know the little black dress, right ? So I thought why not change that into a little beige dress. I got this dress in one of the Zara stores, I guess it was love at first sight. As I am not really a dress and skirt kind of girl, I thought I might want to look more "lady like" and wear less jeans for once. An upcoming birthday diner/party was the perfect occasion for wearing this dress. I agree with the fact that we ladies should all possess at least one little black dress but hey, a neat-cut, simple, cute dress can have, in my opinion, any colour.
Now a little fact/anecdote for a Friday: Did you know that the little black dress was not really invented by Coco Chanel, but it was through this amazing woman that the LBD actually became "famous" in 1926. Coco Chanel published a picture of a simple, short black dress that appeared in the American Vogue issue. Vogue then labelled the dress "Chanel's Ford" - it was simple and accessible to every social class.. and that's how it all started to gain its reputation.

Do you all possess a little black dress ? If not here are a couple of suggestions that you might like and that are very "wallet friendly"!

Two in one

Last night was an evening filled with events. I started off by attending Emilie's 1st Blogger Class at House 17 in Luxembourg City, which was really interesting and for me really useful as I am not a tech master. Emilie from My Little Fashion Diary, happens to be a professional fashion blogger. She started off by introducing her own blog and then explained the best way to market your blog, yourself, how to get people to know you, and so on…
After an hour of theory and taking notes, we all had the opportunity to speak to Emilie and to exchange ideas/opinions/information with other participants who are mostly Bloggers from our Blogger_lu community. Of course, this was the perfect occasion to catch up and gossip a little. Whilst enjoying the chit-chat and the drinks, I also took a photo with the host of this fun class!
Each and everyone got spoiled with a lovely goodie bag at the end of the evening. It contained delicious macaroons from Ladurée, a little perfume bottle from the Parfumerie Paris 8, a 10% discount voucher at my favourite store Smets and many more. I'm looking forward to the next class!

Well as you all know, once you've left one event it's time to rush to the next.
The destination was Courrèges, where the event "Janette porte Courrèges" was held. Courrèges is a french brand with designer clothes and Janette is the new free magazine that was launched in september in Luxemburg. I must say I adore their magazine, it keeps you up to date about everything that's going on and its format fits perfectly into your handbag.
At Courrèges, we discovered their new fragrance "Courrèges In Blue", as well as their other scents. Everything was presented nicely, and we got to enjoy sweet nibbles, Champagne, Orange juice, candy .. something for every tastebud! I was also glad to find other bloggers from our community at that second event, as well as a photographer, a make up artist and another blogger/journalist.
Now, I had to take a picture with one of the Courrèges girls, as I thought that her look is just so representative of what this brand's style is about. I wanted to show you what their garments can look like! And I must say this girl really pulled off the white boots look! ;)
Let's not forget the adorable goodie bag that was given... perfume, nail polish and more. It was so sweet !

To sum it all up, I absolutely enjoyed myself at both events and meeting new people.
I did go through the "what should I wear" dilemma, and ended up wearing my brand new sweater from Kenzo X Smets, pairing it up with a skater skirt and overknee boots!

The burgundy Zara shirt

In the previous post, I talked about the nude colour, today I shall celebrate the existence of burgundy. Burgundy is actually one of the main/leading colours for this year's fall. It can be combined with black, beige, nude, grey and be so classy. I suggest you get your hands on at least one burgundy item for this fall as I can assure you that you'll wear it more than you think, especially once you experience combining it into different looks and styles. In this look, I decided to combine my new Zara shirt with a simple black skater skirt from Bershka. To give it a more of an evening look, I opted for a pair of pointed black heels, but for a daytime look just switch the heels for a pair of ballet flats and you're ready to go. Actually, Zara already did a whole look, there is a matching skirt to the shirt I am wearing - the combination of the two is really nice! So if you can, I recommend you get your hands on it before it's sold out !
I shot this outfit yet again with Denisa, and I have to say that I am really glad with the results. She did a great job! I think the colours in the photographs are just perfect and they convey this fall atmosphere.

Fall inspiration

Fall inspiration

1) Kenzo bracelet 2) Valentino top 3) Burberry trench coat 4) Valentino heels 5) Swarovski ring 6) Chloe bag 7) Msgm skirt

Fall has now definitely knocked on our door… perfect timing for a "Fall-spiration" (aka. fall inspiration).
Lately, I spent quite some time on Polyvore and I tried to understand how their website works. I experimented the creation of my own set which was actually a lot of fun. I recommend their website for some inspiration on daily fashion and interior decorating. The best thing about the website, it that if you find an item you like, you just have to select it and it will inform you on where to order online.
Anyways, with Fall here and with the discovery of this amazing website, I decided to create a set with a Fall inspiration. I hope you like the items that I chose, some of them are actually on my wish list.
I wanted them to all match a certain colour scheme. I went for the Burberry rain coat, as this is just a must-have in a woman's closet. Perfect for those rainy days! The metallic skirt is practically "a 2 in 1" since it's shiny like an accessories and super stylish. Ladies this item should definitely land in our closets this Fall! For the rest, a little gold jewellery and a nude handbag from Chloe which is always good to have and "passe-partout". And last but not least : Valentino Ruckstud heels - ONE word : Perfection!!! And they are just an "all occasion" item. Why this nude/beige colour ? Well, I think this colour is always perfect for fall as it mixes up well with dark colours. One colour I can see matching perfectly with this beige scheme is burgundy which is the leading colour this Fall. (more about the burgundy colour on the next post)
Hope this will inspire you ;) have a good week! xxx

Glitter kimono

Glitter glitter glitter, don't we just love that !
After the glitter slip-ons that were such a trend a few months ago, it is now time to opt the paillettes kimono. There are so many paillettes on it that I had to make sure the picture captured the glittering/sparkling effect. I decided therefore to shoot the pictures around the lake behind my house whilst the sun was still out and bright. I had been looking everywhere for a nice kimono, when I finally found one in St. Tropez during my summer vacation. There was this lovely little shop on the harbour with plenty of adorable things, although most of their clothing had an ethnical style. I just love the glitter on this garment, it reminds me of a disco ball - I personally think that you can wear it when going out or just for a casual stroll through the city. Also, I do wish to apologize for my delayed blog post but I caught the flue during the weekend and ended up being stuck to my bed for 3 days, no fun whatsoever! I guess that's when you know that the weather is changing and that fall is knocking on our door. Speaking of fall…in a couple of days, I shall be doing in a post with my absolute fall favourites.
Thank you to my dear friend Denisa Galaskova for shooting the pictures.
