Trend Alert: Red !

Red, definitely a color that hasn't been as popular in a while... I almost want to say the color is making a huge "come back", as numerous brands have been releasing red handbags, shoes, dresses and more!
Worried that red will be out of fashion again quickly? No need, because it will be sticking around at least until the end of the Summer !
In my opinion red it a color that doesn't suit everyone, for example I tend to think that I'm to pale to wear a bright red sweater or t-shirt, but that's why we have a bunch of accessories to not miss out on the trend right ?!

Colorful Coats : Shop my 5 faves !

Back to Uni after a short Spring break. Started this Monday with an 8.30 am class, and I am exhausted.
The first thing I did when coming home was wrapping myself in my favourite fluffy blanket and threw myself on the couch with a cup of tea.

Soft Pink & Fishnets

Hoodies, fishnets and mules, are definitely a must-wear at the moment.
Although you might think it's a rather odd combination, since fishnets were considered vulgar or provocative for quite some time now; they are back and being portrayed in a very different way!

Inspiration: Bomber jackets

They're back: The Bomber jackets!!!!
After having been out of sight for a few years, they are back and better than ever. This season it's very trendy to have a silk textured bomber with imprints, patterns, quotes and patches, to fill the blank canvas!

Sneaker love

Well aware that we're now in October, I still can't get myself to start slipping into my Uggs and snuggle in my big knits. We've had a wonderful sunny week and I can't hide my love for sneakers and denim shirts.

Living in the Netherlands caught my interest for Dutch brands and finding new styles as well as extraordinary stores.
A brand I recently discover is Filling Pieces, whilst scrolling through my instagram feed. I instantly adorded their sneakers and obviously had to have a pair myself. They are extremely comfortable..crazy! The price may not be the most wallet friendly but that's quickly forgotten once you have them on your feet.
From time to time, Filling Pieces does numerous collaborations with stores, brands and artists. You can check out their previous collaborations on their website here.

To focus on the shoes I chose to match them with simple black jeans by LTB, a denim shirt and my most loved long coat by Boutique Belgique.

Have a great week and make sure to follow me on Instagram for daily updates @arifashionthread! x

Shirt, hair and Oktoberfest

Last night was the famous Oktoberfest.
A little bit of history: In October 1810 the citizens of Munich were invited to celebrate a royal festivity in fields named Theresienwiese (Theresa's field). As the name of the field was to long the locals abbreviated the name to Wies'n (fields). Horse races marked the close of this event that was celebrated for the whole of Bavaria. The decision to repeat the horse races in the following year gave rise to the tradition of the Oktoberfest.
Over the years the traditional horse racing was no longer held and the agricultural show marked it's place. Later on the visitors could quench their thirst with beer.
Today, the Oktoberfest is still held at the Wies'n and is apparently one of the largest festival in the world. The usual outfit worn at the Oktoberfest is called Tracht, men wear shirts with Lederhosen and women wear a Dirndl.

This year I decided to not get a Dirndl and got my hair done instead. I must say I am happy with how it turned out, but I think the hairdresser didn't fully understand what I wanted and it ended up looking too bridal…
Before heading to the party I had to run some errands in the city so I wore this long shirt with ripped jeans and, of course, my favourite lace-up flats. I teamed this look with my metal box bag for an extra original touch.
This blue & white striped shirt was definitely a great buy and I can't wait to wear it with other outfits as soon as the chilly days start kicking in!

What were your plans over the weekend?
Many thanks to Crowns & Petticoats for making this lovely crown!

Trend: Velcro flats

Trend: Velcro flats

Don't you hate it when you plan on doing something on a specific day which ends up not working out as foreseen? Well, that's what happened to me: I wanted to upload this post last week, however I ended up being really sick and out of energy.

Anyway it's time to take your velcro flats out as they are making a come back this season. No matter what colour they are, velcro is the new hype.
Despite the fact that I relate the velcro flats to my childhood, I am glad that they are back as they are the perfect shoes to slip into when in a rush. I think they give your outfit a cool and chic look.
Here is a selection of my favourite pairs of velcro flats, from high end to high street.
What do you think about this trend?

Ripped jeans & lace-up flats

Just came back from University, now enjoying a nice cup of Starbucks coffee. Yumm!

Addicted to Zara as I am, I decided to create a look with some pieces from their current collection. If you ask me, I will not be able to tell you if I prefer the shoes or the fluffy cardigan - I love them both.
Unlike to what I was thinking, these shoes are incredibly comfortable. The black fluff ball seems to be my current go-to cardigan as I take it with me everywhere I go.
Let's talk ripped jeans, a very popular trend these past 2 seasons (hopefully ongoing). Ripped jeans are available in any style, size & colour. Due to my weight gain most of my jeans don't fit me anymore, the reason for having to opt for a boyfriend pair. This being said, I still love them and they are the best pair to wear when I don't feel like squeezing into tight leggings. However, ripped jeans can easily look cheap and trashy so I suggest you keep your full look simple and stylish by combining it with a shirt or a t-shirt.
(Do keep in mind that I have been traveling and some of the items you may not be able to find in your local Zara store.)

Inspiration: Stylish pool floats

Pool floats

With this canicular weather, I think we are all craving a dip in the pool or the sea right?
I have a couple of friends with a swimming pool in their back yard, which comes in really handy when the temperatures soar. At least I don't have to rush to the supermarket and buy an inflatable pool. Btw, I've heard supermarkets are out of stock of inflatable swimming pools…

Today, it's raining… so, I have been browsing through the net for stylish pool floats that I have been seeing all over the social media. The usual dauphin and pink mattress definitely boring! I rather have donuts, pizzas and swans to keep me company when sunbathing in the pool. I hope to find a new "pool friend" to join me on my vacation to Ibiza and take plenty on pictures. ;)
If you're also searching for these super cool and stylish new pool floats, you can shop them right below this post with just one click.
So which one will it be? The pretzel, the donut or the pizza? Guilt-free calories
Happy Monday!

Inspiration: Off-shoulder trend

Personally, I am not the type of person that likes to show a lot of cleavage, I actually try to avoid the 'too much'. Those who have been following me for a while will have noticed this.

I am pretty happy that the off-shoulder trend is becoming more and more popular, not in a vulgar way but actually in a chic and somewhat sexy way. As sexy doesn't just mean showing boobies but it's about showing a little skin whilst still keeping it neat and classy.
There is a variety of off-shoulder outfits. You can find dresses, tops, blouses and jumpsuits/overalls in any colours and lengths.

I've ordered my off-shoulder top; I can't wait for it to arrive and shoot an outfit for which I have already imagined many ways on how to wear it: with lace shorts, flared jeans, with heels or with gladiators etc.

By the way, not sure if I've told you this before but every time I order something online, I am always so eager and impatient to receive my package in the mail. I have currently been waiting 2 months for a pair of sunglasses as they are out of stock at the moment but there will be a post dedicated to the sunnies when they will finally, if they ever, arrive.
This being said, I am terribly excited for my off-shoulder top due to arrive at any moment. Are you also impatient and excited when the mailman rings your doorbell with your delivery?

At the end of this post you will find a selection of some of my favourite off-shoulder tops & dresses.

Triangl "Poppy" bikini: size guide

First off, sorry if you are presented again with this bikini which is everywhere on Social Media… For those who haven't heard if the Triangl bikini brand yet, just visit their website. I promise, it will be love at first sight!

I've been thinking about getting this bikini for over a year now but whilst reading the reviews I realised many people were dissatisfied with the size recommendation or with the sizing system this brand follows. Another thing I noticed is that many people were also complaining about the fabric. But what do you expect… it's neoprene!
Irrelevant of all the comments I decided to buy my bikini.

Beforehad, I talked to someone on the website's live chat, I received pretty good recommendations regarding the size. In addition, I contacted a friend for her advice, since she already has one of the bikinis.

Once received, I "tested" the bikini, I wore it in the pool and whilst sunbathing, the fabric is definitely something to get used to! To resume, the bikini will for sure neither feel like a wetsuit nor like a soft blanket. But hey, in french we say "pour ĂȘtre belle il faut souffrir" as in to be pretty you need to suffer. Even though there is not a lot of suffering to go through here, the fabric will for sure be a little irritating in the beginning. You might get the impression that the bikini is too small but after wearing it for a couple of hours, you will notice that it fits perfectly.

The main question still remains: What about the size? In my case, I stuck to my usual size as I didn't have the problem of "both sizes would fit!". If you're hesitating between two sizes I suggest you opt for the bigger size as the neoprene fabric is not "stretchy" and you wouldn't want to risk it being too small. In general though, I've noticed that their sizes run small.
If you are wondering what size my bikini is on the photos: the top and bottom are a small.
And last: I love the packaging!

Hope this review helped you in your choice of bikini for this summer!

Full on Jeans

Full on Jeans outfit! My new addiction is definitely… jeans.
With the 70s style being brought back to life, I can't help but follow this trend! Totally love the 70s.
This combination with suede and jeans is just marvellous - sporty yet chic and stylish all in one.
My favourite is still the jeans skirt combined with a camel coloured fringe top/jacket worn with gladiators.
So far, I just own the jeans skirt…
How do you combine your jeans skirt or your gladiators?

You often hear or read that if you wear jeans and a jeans shirt/jacket they should both be the same colour. After experimenting quite a lot lately with different jeans tones, I've actually realised that this statement is wrong in so many ways since combining different jeans tones can give your outfit such a cool touch and look so effortless, let alone all styled up.
This is what this look is all about it's about mixing and matching different jeans tones and personally, I think it looks awesome.
BTW, I am currently having a jeans jacket made, as in, it is being hand painted for me, I can't wait to show you the result as soon as it's finished. I am already thinking about the different ways to combine it!

Now, some of you surely follow the amazing and beautiful Chiara Ferragni and might recognise this outfit… This was quite a coincidence, as at the time of shooting this outfit Chiara actually posted pictures on Instagram of herself wearing the exact same outfit. Awesome right?

Ps: Sorry for the lack of postings but due to a lot of exam weeks and studying, I had to reduce the postings and it will also be so for the next couple of weeks. Thanks for understanding guys! xx

Girlfriend jeans & glitter heels

Today, on my day off and back in Luxembourg, I decided to enjoy the sunny weather and to just relax.
Thus this didn't keep me from dressing well… Ok, I must admit on days off such as Sundays, I wear sweatpants and hoddies. But, since today I had to run some errands I had to style up!

It comes as no surprise to you that I LOVE glitter shoes… I mean I haven't worn these ones on the blog yet and it's finally time to show them off. You got a glance of these MIU MIU babies back in January (here) when I visited Milan at New Year.
By the way, talking about glitter shoes, I am head over heels in love with the purple glittered "Blake" shoes by Chiara Ferragni. (get them here)

Anyway, I paired my golden gems with a pair of girlfriend/mom-jeans; the new "It" pair of jeans. They are the most comfortable jeans ever, although my loved ones say I look like I a mom… I mean, they are 70's so what do they expect,... high waist all the way! Right?
I combined them with a soft sleeveless striped tee and a creme coat to finish the look.
A relaxed fit.
