HM x Balmain

What should I say... you are probably saturated with these Balmain by H&M looks but I just have to show you these gorgeous velvet patterned trousers. I love them!

To be honest, I wasn't a fan of the collection up until the night before everything was out in stores. Getting up at 5am the next day to stand in a queue knowing that I worked until 12pm, didn't really appeal to me - I was shattered. Plus, did I want to go through the whole craziness and chaos again like last year for the Alexander Wang by H&M collection? It was a tricky decision for me - I thus ended up setting an alarm on 5th of november to ring at 4:30am. You would expect me to get up… well guess what… I stayed in bed and just decided to get my beauty sleep instead of injuring myself and my wallet.

Upon this decision, I chose to go to our local H&M store the following day and still found my luck. I scored these gorgeous velvet trousers.

Today, looking back I am glad I didn't go, because after speaking to some friends and reading the news, people were apparently going crazy and some even came out with scratches on their faces. People turned into animals for this collection.

For this look I paired the velvet trousers with a turtle neck top, a loose blazer and I added my adorable Chanel Boy bag. This season is all about velvet!!

Shirt, hair and Oktoberfest

Last night was the famous Oktoberfest.

A little bit of history: In October 1810 the citizens of Munich were invited to celebrate a royal festivity in fields named Theresienwiese (Theresa's field). As the name of the field was to long the locals abbreviated the name to Wies'n (fields). Horse races marked the close of this event that was celebrated for the whole of Bavaria. The decision to repeat the horse races in the following year gave rise to the tradition of the Oktoberfest.

Over the years the traditional horse racing was no longer held and the agricultural show marked it's place. Later on the visitors could quench their thirst with beer.

Today, the Oktoberfest is still held at the Wies'n and is apparently one of the largest festival in the world. The usual outfit worn at the Oktoberfest is called Tracht, men wear shirts with Lederhosen and women wear a Dirndl.

This year I decided to not get a Dirndl and got my hair done instead. I must say I am happy with how it turned out, but I think the hairdresser didn't fully understand what I wanted and it ended up looking too bridal…

Before heading to the party I had to run some errands in the city so I wore this long shirt with ripped jeans and, of course, my favourite lace-up flats. I teamed this look with my metal box bag for an extra original touch.

This blue & white striped shirt was definitely a great buy and I can't wait to wear it with other outfits as soon as the chilly days start kicking in!

Business look

Being a student in business, I thought why not do a business look which isn't too serious or strict.
At the Uni,we often have project presentations where we are asked, among others, to dress appropriately. I am showing you the last outfit that I wore to one of them.

I think a blazer is always a must have (every girl should at least own a black blazer!). Once you have acquired a black blazer, I suggest you start buying other colours. Then, of course there is the shirt. I opted for a sky blue shirt but you can really just go for any other basic colour. Do not forget your statement necklace which will ALWAYS give your look that little extra, turning a  simple/boring outfit (which you will probably not even be complimented on) to "Oh nice necklace! Great outfit!".
If your top has basic colours or shapes; dare, go for prints at the bottom! I can not insist enough on the word PRINTS. Make sure that if you take flower printed trousers for example, that your shirt or top always recalls the colour present in the print.
Last but not least... shoes. I opted for ankle boots, which facilitate rides on a bike but should you attend a business meeting by car I suggest pumps or stilettos.
I just added the clutch for completing the look, but seriously, do take a normal sized bag or briefcase for the ultimate working girl look!
