Invitation to a Birthday dinner

Last night, I attended a friend's Birthday dinner and this is what I wore.
I suppose a colourful garment would have been more appropriate but I am simply so in love with this dress that only wearing it once, on Valentine's day, was not an option.
Surely, you can never go wrong on a little black dress and a pair of high-heeled ankle boots. I added a white blazer and of course my favourite cross body bag.

I actually thought it would be quite interesting to shoot this outfit in a more "rustic" location, therefore posing in the woods was exactly what I was looking for. I must admit that the photos are exactly how I imagined them. I couldn't have chosen a better location to match this outfit. In fact, a good alternative to the usual street photos.

I am currently hitting very regularly the gym, as already mentioned in this post. I am focusing on muscle definition. My coach has now given me a strict workout and meal plan so let's see how that will go. I shall keep you updated…
I've been in Luxembourg these past 2 weeks and got loads of new fitness gear that I can't wait to show you, especially my new Piba gym leggings.

Inspiration: Must-have sunnies

This season's Must-Have sunnies are definitely those from Dior, Céline and Ray-ban. I think these are the 3 brands that are definitely successful with us girls.
Well, I mean Ray-ban sunnies are year after year with their models such as "cats", "aviator", "clubmaster" and now the round shaped ones, always a success.
Currently statement sunglasses are a hit whether colourful, mirrored, big/heavy framed or unusual/square and asymmetric shaped - the latter are the most wanted. That's where Céline and Dior come in to the picture.
Personally, I love them and I think they can fit almost any face. I can't wait to get my pair.
If you're not as much into a pair of heavy or space-like framed sunglasses that is no problem, a pair of round ones from Ray-ban should do: thin metal frame with round dark green glass, perfectly stylish and fashionable giving a John Lennon touch. Not only that but those glasses will give you a little bit of a vintage look.
Now, if you can, I will say invest in not just one pair of sunnies but 3 pairs. We women always need to have a choice when it comes to choosing the right accessory for the right outfit.

Which pair of sunglasses is your favourite?

My NYFW look

I think this is no news to you, but FWNY is on (from the 12th to the 19th). I hope that one day I'll be lucky enough to attend at least one show. It would be a dream come true.
Oh well, whilst I continue to hope and dream, I made up a look that I'd wear if only I had the chance to attend a show this season.
A ruffle skirt, glitter boots, white blazer, warm sweater, and cross body bag.
Knowing that the weather in NYC is currently freezing, I'd wear of course a leather jacket, big scarf and gloves.

Fashion week is about looking at your best. Showing off your best style and clothes, and eventually you might be noticed by some Papz and end up in the Grazia magazine for favourite street style.
What could be more exciting than seeing and meeting designers, other bloggers, discovering the new collections, going to events, parties and living a dream?

Arm up, hand out, whistle, and catch a cab. Discovering the most amazing streets, stores, little bakeries and best fast foods. It's all about the New York experience.

Anyways, since I am not in NYC, I will let you enjoy my outfit and I will make sure to write a post either about my favourite street styles, or my favourite shows… Let's wait and see…

Business look

Being a student in business, I thought why not do a business look which isn't too serious or strict.
At the Uni,we often have project presentations where we are asked, among others, to dress appropriately. I am showing you the last outfit that I wore to one of them.

I think a blazer is always a must have (every girl should at least own a black blazer!). Once you have acquired a black blazer, I suggest you start buying other colours. Then, of course there is the shirt. I opted for a sky blue shirt but you can really just go for any other basic colour. Do not forget your statement necklace which will ALWAYS give your look that little extra, turning a  simple/boring outfit (which you will probably not even be complimented on) to "Oh nice necklace! Great outfit!".
If your top has basic colours or shapes; dare, go for prints at the bottom! I can not insist enough on the word PRINTS. Make sure that if you take flower printed trousers for example, that your shirt or top always recalls the colour present in the print.
Last but not least... shoes. I opted for ankle boots, which facilitate rides on a bike but should you attend a business meeting by car I suggest pumps or stilettos.
I just added the clutch for completing the look, but seriously, do take a normal sized bag or briefcase for the ultimate working girl look!

Let me know whether you like this outfit and if you'd be interested into seeing more "business looks" in the future.

The midi skirt & sneakers

Sneakers and a skirt is always a good idea when you don't know how to wear either of those items. Combined with a silk blue shirt and, for the little detail, I added my favourite leather waist belt. I adore the front split in the skirt, the neoprene fabric and the funnel shape. Even better, it has pockets which is fantastic especially when you don't know how to pose for photos.

I am so glad to have finally found a lovely black midi skirt. I've been searching for one for quite some time and when I spotted this skirt at H&M last week, I had to take it home with me. It was a little funny as whilst trying it on I was already imagining all sorts of outfits/combinations, thus most of my inspiration had more of a summer aspect. There will definitely be loads more outfits to come, once the sun and good weather will hit the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Back in Luxembourg, we don't have much choice or barely any when it comes to the Trend collection of H&M, therefore I am so happy to have a huge store here in the Netherlands of which I just can't get enough!

Personally, sneakers and a skirt always work. The sneakers will make sure to give your outfit a sporty yet edgy look. If you want to go sporty all the way, just add a sweater, baggy or fitted, it doesn't matter. Now, if you do still want to keep it simple then just go for either a shirt, or simply a t-shirt with a cardigan, if the weather doesn't allow you to go sleeveless.

St. Valentine's day gift guide for her

Valentines gift guide for her

St. Valentine's day is moving closer, so I thought it would be a good idea to make up a gift guide. We all know men aren't that much into finding the perfect gift, right (well, not all of them)? They always just complain about how complicated girls are, but, oh well… no one is perfect. So, here is some inspiration with some gifts that we girls would love to be spoiled with, simple, red & pink thinks. Classic and basic surprises!

Current favourites for spring

Current favourites for spring

With all the snow we had back in Luxembourg and the rainy days I am currently experiencing in the Netherlands, I just couldn't stop myself from selecting my current favourites from my much-loved online stores. Here are the items that will definitely make it into my closet by the time spring arrives.
I must confess that in my apartment, I currently own 2 closets and 3 drawers full of clothes, plus I left quite a lot of clothes and shoes back in Luxembourg. I am still wondering where to store my future purchases.
Anyways, I thought it would be nice to show you what my must haves are; actually some of these items are already on their way to my house - how exciting!

I would like to apologise for the lack of postings these past weeks. Unfortunately I had exams, which took up all my time. I've basically been stuck with my head in my books.

I hope you like my selection and let me know what you're favourites for spring are, so far!
Have a great week! xx
