Christmas Gift Inspiration: For Him

After showing you a little inspiration on what to get her, it's time to talk about what to get him...
Personally ,I always struggle when it comes to buying a gift for a guy. I end up strolling through shops and malls without a clue on what to buy or I google for some ideas.

Suede & destroyed denim

After having deserted the blog the past four months, I'm finally back with great new content, ideas and inspiration.
The reason of my absence was due to lots of work at University, which kept me busy on a daily basis and also due to a lack of creativity. For some reason, I came across a loss of inspiration which lead me to believe that the content I was putting out there for you was not good enough. After brainstorming and collecting ideas from the environment surrounding me, I can now say that I cannot wait to show you plenty of new looks and more.

I needed a break

It has been almost two months since I last posted on the blog. To be honest I simply needed a break, time for myself, to focus on my studies and I had to find inspiration.

Sporty in New York

Having been in New York 7 years ago, the memory of having to walk a lot didn't skip my mind; packing comfy sneakers and weather appropriate clothes wear is a must especially since Spring hasn't made its full appearance yet!
I always try my best to match my outfit based on the daily activity ahead.
You want to be comfortable, sporty, yet stylish, then here are a few tips you can take into account when getting dressed:

Inspiration: Bomber jackets

They're back: The Bomber jackets!!!!
After having been out of sight for a few years, they are back and better than ever. This season it's very trendy to have a silk textured bomber with imprints, patterns, quotes and patches, to fill the blank canvas!

Planning my next trip!

Concrete jungle where dreams are made of ... I suppose you can guess where I am trying to go here! NEW YORK CITY !
Today, in exactly a month, I will be in NYC. I am extremely excited and impatiently counting the days. The first and last time I was in New York was on my 13th birthday, no need to say that I immediately fell in love with the city where any dream is possible!

As I've only been there once, I am asking you for some tips on where I can find what. As much as I know my way around NY, a bit, I am still a tourist when it comes to insider places.
I am looking for a nice Vintage/Second hand store with designer pieces, some local brand stores with affordable prices, some good restaurants and bars; (a cocktail bar suggestion is always welcome!), places to visit apart from the usual touristic attractions, beautiful shooting locations, and more!
Simply leave your tips and suggestions in the comment section below, I will be glad to read them, and start planning my trip!

I wish I could travel to America more often and visit other cities. It might not be for right now, but definitely on my to-do list!
Make sure to follow me on Snapchat (Arianeglov) and Instagram(Arifashionthread) for daily updates and follow me around on this trip. Feel free to also comment and leave your tips there!
I can't wait to take you on this journey along with me.
Until then, enjoy the week and stay tuned for a new outfit post!

Balmain Hair Couture: Review

As a change from the usual outfit posts and trends, I thought it would be good to write a review on the latest products I've tested.
I recently discovered the Balmain Hair couture collection. It's been on the market for quite a while but newly hit the stores in the Netherlands such as De Bijenkorf.
The whole hair collection is composed of shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, styling sprays, perfume, hair accessories etc... I have tried the Silk Perfume and the Leave-in Conditioner

Leave-in Conditioner:
I am positively surprised by this product. Reason being that the texture of the liquide feels light when sprayed on to the hair. It also gives the hair a light feel and shine without making it look greasy. Not to forget, the lovely smell, which unfortunately does not last very long. But  hey!! who wants to have their hair smelling like they fell into a perfume bottle?!

Silk Perfume:
When it comes to this product, I like that the smell was a bit more poignant and long lasting. However, this product has an actual consistency which feels heavier on your hair and, if sprayed too much, you might get a greasy shine. This being said... you will for sure diffuse, through your hair, a lovely smell.

All products are paraben and sulphate-free, plus contain aragon oil and silk protein to hydrate and protect the hair on a daily basis.

If you have seen these products and weren't sure which one to buy, then hopefully this review might help.

10 things you didn't know about me

10 things you didn't know about me. I thought it might be interesting to read a few fun facts.

1) I used to have a big gap between my 2 front teeth which led me to wear braces.

2) I have a dog named Lucky; she's been in our family for 15 years now. In addition, I have a rabbit, called Chupito (Spanish for shot). I guess the name suits him well since he is a super active bunny and often acts like a dog or better said, he copies Lucky.

3) I have to wear glasses when driving or when having to spot something from afar. Yes yes, don't ever wave to me from afar, because if I am not wearing my glasses, I won't be able to see you!

4) My first designer bag was the Stella McCarnet Falabella. I spent almost 2 years saving up for it and it was definitely worth it. However, I no longer own it, I sold it to buy a new bag.

5) Whenever I travel, the first things I pack are usually shoes and handbags. I tend to think these are the most important items to complement an outfit.

6) I am constantly connected to my social media accounts aka. my phone is my partner in crime. I always take my laptop and my camera along.

7) I used to take opera singing classes but unfortunately due to overwhelming school work I had to stop.

8) I am probably the most emotional person in my family, I litteraly cry for everything. When I see a sad movie , a touching advert, when I meet a friend or get a good grade.. etc! Believe it or not this Coca-Cola ad actually made me cry.

9) I never have and probably never will buy a designer handbag on the internet since I am way too picky.

10) Last but not least, I own about 50 pairs of jeans , and probably only wear 10 of them. I have been piling them up for the past years.

I'm curious, do you have a fun fact to share ?

Flares and lace-up flats

As I've finally got some free time on my hands again, I am glad to share a new outfit with you.
Whilst shooting this look my toes were almost turning blue, but this doesn't stop me from it being my favourite seasons as it's Fashion Week time!!!
The reason for loving the Fashion Weeks, is because you get to see a mix of styles, tastes , craziness and so much creativity; coming from the designers as well as from all the street styles. From what I've been seeing on social media and the internet, I somehow prefer the street styles during NYC FW and Paris FW.

My dream is to, one day, attend a show during the Fashion Week season, no matter if Paris, Milan, NY, Berlin..! But you know what they say "Nothing worth having comes easy", right?

I recently had a closet clean-out and found these black flared jeans, which totally set me back to the 70's style again. I scored another nice pair during the Zara sale which will be on the blog in the upcoming week. I think I am not over the 70's yet!

What about you, also a 70's style lover?

Last minute V-Day gift ideas

With Valentines' Day only 2 days away, I thought it would be a good time to give you some last minute ideas on what you can spoil your loved one with.
Although I am not a huge fan of Valentines' Day, as I think that you don't need the 14th of February to show you partner that you love him/her. This being said, who doesn't love an occasional bunch of roses or a little gift ?!

Ideas for her:

When in Strasbourg

Last week I spent 2 beautiful sunny days in Strasbourg visiting a friend, which happens to study there. I've never been there before; on the programme was some sightseeing and lots of walking! With walking speaks comfortable clothes and shoes right ?
Therefore, I opted for a relaxed biker look by matching a pair of ankle boots with an oversized Acne look-a-like jacket. To give the whole look some character I added my beloved bag charms and a pair of suede skinny trousers with some zip details.

Strasbourg is a lovely city, with its canals and its beautiful architecture. However, let's not forget the delicious tarte flambƩe, of which we both couldn't have enough of!
Food set a side, Strasbourg appeared to be a clean city with lots of friendly and open people. In addition, I adored the little cafĆ©s that you encounter in every road. If you're considering to do a little shopping trip in the near future I highly recommend Strasbourg as you can definitely "shop till you drop"!

What have you been up to this week?

Inspiration: Faux fur jackets

Snow has hit Luxembourg, whilst here, in the Netherlands, the rain keeps persisting.
I love snow but there is nothing better than feeling toasty during these the cold temperatures; this is why I've put together this article for some faux fur jackets inspiration.
I simply adore faux fur jackets as they come in every colour, including patterns. I recently got a burgundy coloured one which I wore here. However, if I were to buy another jacket, I will definitely go for a multi coloured one as I think it gives an outfit a whole new character!
I hope this post inspires you on how to wear and to combine your faux fur jackets!
Enjoy your weekend! xx

All eyes on the bag!

I actually shot this outfit on the 1st of January in Bournemouth but haven't had the chance to upload it yet as I am really occupied with school work. I have a few busy weeks ahead of me, therefore I don't know how many articles I will be able to post this month. If you do want to see more updates, make sure to follow me on Snapchat (@arianeglov) and Instagram (@arifashionthread)!

Camel is definitely a beloved colour especially when it comes to coats! I think they can make your outfit look chic and relaxed at the same time. I finally got my hands on this camel coat during the Zara sales. In addition to the coat, I wanted to show you the new coral Play-No-More handbag that I actually had my eyes on for quite a while and Santa was so kind to leave it under the Christmas tree for me. I just love the eye detail on the bag; it definitely gives it an edgy look. I've never liked Kelly bags look-a-likes, but I guess for this bag it's different... you're automatically drawn to the eyes on the bag rather than to the bag itself. (Find the bag here)
An ideal and comfortable look for a stroll though Bournemouth on a windy day.

I'll let you enjoy this outfit whilst I return to my books. Let me know what you think of this look in the comment section below! xx
